Buurt inzicht

Dutch municipalities are facing the challenge to monitor the far-reaching transformations within the social and spatial domain. Therefore it’s becoming increasingly important to find alternative ways to look at and measure the world as we experience it. Solutions can already be found in the professionals working in the neighborhoods, who possess experience-based knowledge, such as the connections between residents, strengths of a neighborhood or the way residents experience their neighborhood. However, these professionals lack tools to turn their knowledge into something graspable and operational for policy and decision makers.

Buurt in-zicht is a design investigation into the challenge of bridging the gap between system world and living world by supporting neighborhood professionals in making their experience-based knowledge tangible and practicable for the system world.
